Now for the HRS Officers → they were both relocated to another district. Both were reprimanded after the Superiors investigated. I was only given a verbal reprimand about kicking his Officer in the balls, they declined to press charges. The only time an Officer can grab a child if the child is in grave danger and in my case, I was not in grave danger.
A lot of people become very surprised that a 9½ year old started the business! One major rule I had in regards to the Company is “PERFECTION”. No matter what, I never permitted any “short cuts”, it was to be done if it was your own! Employees learned very quickly, don’t try me, and you can’t “get away” from me either! I’ve fired 3 employees who decided to “do just that”!
The Deputy and Police Officer walked this woman and parked her in front of my Dad and the Surgeon. She wouldn’t even look up. Really, the Surgeon has more powers than a Pharmacist, and he ordered her to be arrested and taken away. The MP’s were all standing rank and file behind my Dad and the Surgeon, they ordered the Deputy to haul her (bleep) to jail. MP’s have far more authority than the Sheriff and Police (even though we weren’t zoned City, the City was actually one street over) and at the edge of the end of road was the other City.
I would be right there from ground up. And because of them, I became a multiple-Licensed Gold Bar State General Contractor, Electrician, Plumber, etc.
Well the Volunteer Fire Department Chief began to suspect “It could have been from her competition.” He was suspecting “jealousy” so they reported out of spite with hopes to diminish the successful business!
Whoa there! It’s not “illegal” for a parent or parents to leave their child or children at home! Put your nose where it belongs, on your face!

A MP can forcefully kick the door down! Because they had a garage open, he gave them at least 5 to 6 opportunities to step outside, and they refused, so BOOM - there went the garage side door! The parents were detained (literally handcuffed) and their bratty teen boys (15 and 17) were in a yelling match, ordering them to release their mom, until the 15 year old grabbed the tire iron and almost smacking the backside of the MP who was trying to detain their Shepherd mix (all their dog was doing was barking). Until the other MP Officer grabbed him and body slammed him to the ground and handcuffing the 15 year old. The 17 year old backed off and ordered their dog down and the other MP Officer permitted him to have the dog on a leash. HE was instructed to stay inside with the dog. HEY, that 17 year old had far more common sense than his own mom and dad and his little brother (who by the way, the neighbors found out he was a “juvie” (Juvenile Delinquent with a record, not a great way to “introduce oneself into a new neighborhood”.)
When the Sheriff told the HRS Officers to leave, they refused, in fact, they were now barking orders for me to be detained. When he grabbed me, let’s put it this way, I kicked him in the balls where he collapsed to the ground! The State Police already departed, as well as the Ambulance, Fire Department, (except for my Station, I had him to park my vehicle on the driveway, because the 2 boys who arrived, due to drought that was ongoing, I wanted to do an Inspection of the Woods today since it was originally slotted in for Saturday, the WildFire Truck was a small portable tanker. I had plans to do a controlled burning and needed to finish that off due to a lot of Dry Storms (Lightning but no rain).)
By the time it was almost 5 PM, I had 2 City Fire Trucks, my Volunteer Fire Department Wildlife Truck (Yeah, I worked with the Volunteer Fire Department, I was the Captain of that regional area and the only authorized “Paramedic” before Paramedic was such a thing - and that Wildlife Truck is MY TRUCK!)

My poor grandma, she had to call her son (my dad) from work, which the MP’s son also called his Dad (Surgeon), both my dad and his dad returned back home. The Administrator permitted them to leave, and HE got the word in and was left scratching his head, he had both boys (dad and his dad) to report what all was going on. (Well they didn’t have to, because the Chief Head Nurse, her son works for the Police Department for that city was called out, and she got all the updates and relayed it to the Administrator - The BIG BIG DO OR DIE DEATH ROW BOSS)!
My dad does not do “bars”, but the Surgeon offered to go to the bar before he headed home, he spoke with his son (the MP). But the curiosity got the best of everyone, WHY DID SHE CALL THE MILITARY BASE AND REQUEST MILITARY POLICE? AND HOW DID SHE EVEN DIAL THE NUMBER? (It’s true we had all kinds of Military personnel of all ranks and departments, USAF, USAA, USCG, USN, USM, National Guard, NASA, DOD, you name it, every other house in this subdivision was either active or retired or turned civilian, as so it was with my Dad, USN turned Civilian, while the Surgeon was USAF - active). My granddad encouraged my dad to go and have a beer and then come home, because he was a bit concerned as the Surgeon was “One of those big bosses” (that’s “partially” true to a degree). So my dad permitted the Surgeon to go to the nearby tavern and they had a couple of beers, and he was brought home. My mom didn’t like this one bit!

The next morning, the County Bull Dozier arrived (and I had specifically requested a back hoe), then I realized, this would be far better, because instead of a 10 foot barrier, we will make it a 16 foot barrier!
I can remember when my Granddad saw his son coming home and then said “Oh gee whiz Mother, you called your son from work?” Let’s put it this way, with my Dad standing there (in Pharmacist Uniform) and the MP’s Dad standing there in his Surgeon uniform, side by side. Neither one of them were “smiling” → both were scowling. The Chief (the Sheriff had to go, a call somewhere else and he left it to the hands of the Chief even though we were “County”.)
Meanwhile at the new house down the end of the street, the MP Officer, called for his boys, he had them all locked and loaded, after he had summoned them to come over here (for he was asking questions) and instead, they all retreated and went inside of their home and locked themselves inside. He ordered one to knock and order them out of the house. They wouldn’t answer the door!
All but one employee was all paid and given the work order. The last employee told me over the radio, that they were still working on the swimming pool, the concrete truck was late incoming. And using his radio, I spoke with them. I gave them a Flat Envelope to give to xxx (the boss there) the payroll checks and the next week’s order (which was still building the in-ground swimming pool - all week). I radio him back and said I’m gonna have xxx drop this off (they were about 6 miles away so it was somewhat on his way home from work, just a little bit off), and to have the Company (Concrete & Brick) to call me why the delay. Then they were off.
Meanwhile the 15 year old faced “federal” charges (because of his priors), so he was detained with no bond and no release to the Juvenile Delinquent jail.
In 2015, I trained all Lennox Experts to restoration of units. Yes, in Florida, old Lennox as old as 1940s are still fully operational today, just not their air conditioners anymore. The wall heaters (gas and electric) amazingly are well cared for and still purring.

When Mom and my little sister came home, my dad had already ordered me to move the truck (Volunteer Fire Department Wildlife/Wildfire Tanker) which I did (yes, I was fully authorized to operate it and had the permit for it). He instructed my mother and my little sister to go inside and stay inside. They did, but knowing my sister - she’s utterly nosy, she would open the window and peek out of the curtain until you could hear mom yell “GET OUT OF THE WINDOW!” So she would scurry over and try to wedge herself between the front door and screen door, until my mom would grab her and order her to go into her room and stay there!
Well, after I had kicked the HRS Officer the other Officer was going to grab me before the Deputy grabbed him and body slammed him to the hood of his patrol car (that Deputy lived around the corner from me so he knew very well who I was and never was ‘in danger’.) and then he threw the HRS Officer into the back seat of his car and closed it.
It was a wonderful thing that we went ahead of schedule to inspect that back end marsh. I made the decision to take the back hoe and dig up a “ravine” to separate the near-end of marsh and dry land and to topple down some Trees (fires will jump, fires will also create a storm within itself as well).

It was because of this business I had rapport with Rutenburg, Hunt, DeBartalo (trust me, this guy was a bit on the wonky side, he was always looking for ways to milk money and get away with “cheap shots” → This is where I learned so much about cheap shot tactics that I literally BANNED these practices in my businesses), Melody, and so many other famous Contractors! And above all, I am FOREVER GRATEFUL for LENNOX! (Which are Canadian Company.)
The big bonus that customers and commercial businesses loved was - If you tree fell and/or damaged anything, We would be on the spot to remove the tree and place temporary tarp (if it fell on your roof) and contact your Insurance Company. We removed the tree for free (of course, it was “free mulch” to us → We charged it back for purchase of mulch). The business also had Contractors, I had Roofers to Foundation licensed employees. We handled all insurance, permits, inspections, etc. You name it. We also provided full warranty! (Depending on the job, warranty varies.)
Well, the Welfare Officer who had no idea who I was → It took the 3 City Police (they knew who I was and that I had a business, there was nothing illegal about it → My business was well known for its’ integrity, honesty, and “bonuses” [I will explain the bonus later].

The past few blocks (the entire subdivision and the next subdivision - the word got around like wildfire, thanks to the Party Lines which ignited it)! Quite a few of those people were trying to tell the HRS Officers to LEAVE IMMEDIATELY! (They wouldn’t, by this time the County Sheriff arrived and the Police chief arrived (because he got the message, and he was furious! He was one of my customers! I mean, I had tons of customers! Lawyers, Officers, Chiefs, Military, Regular, Premium, Unleaded and High Octane!)
There were so much confusion going on where my Granddad tried to sort it out. All they got was an “EMERGENCY CALL that a “little girl was dealing criminal stuff with Old Men with the address provided!” The Operator gathered all that information. When the Operator tried to get the “Reporter’s Information” they had hung up the phone. Because there was a child involved they got the STATE Police AND HRS - Welfare Officers!

Years ago when I was 10, my little baby sister was in Elementary/Grade School. Our Dad worked, my mom agreed to volunteer and help students struggling at the school. That school hours were far different than it was today. I was already home at 2 PM, my little sissy didn’t get home until close to 5 PM. Since our dad had to work a “grave yard” shift for at least 8 months to a year. He left for work around 2 PM (the hours he worked was from 4 PM until about 4 AM to 6 AM).
After confrontation with the parents it was determined that their mother placed the call, so the father was instructed to return back into the house and stay there. Their 15 year old son now was in a Deputy’s vehicle, handcuffed. Their mother faced a lot of grilling from the Sheriff and Police Chief and a bunch of neighbors (which the Law Enforcement agencies had to tell them - PLEASE STAND BACK - when the Boss is done, then you can give her an earful).
We had just completed the long gap. Kids were having a field day with their bikes (Banana bikes) making ramps and jumping over it. The soil was rather soft and in some areas, extremely muddy.

WHY? Well, for one thing, Dinner was at 6 PM sharp! You better have your face and hands washed and seated! This was one of those days where “everything was completely off”. It was really rough of my mom!
Above all, about 3/4 of those guys out there KNEW who I was, I started the business when I was 9, and it became well-known and spread like wildfire (which was why the business was booming). There was no child or little girl in danger, I had to make them move their vehicles so my employees could come and get their work order schedule and paychecks.
Muck fires STINKS! It’s burning up all the decayed compost under the ground. Muck fires can be anywhere from 3 feet to 15 feet below the ground as long as their is oxygen, they will burn, and burn, and burn, and burn! The marsh had multiple direct hits (thankfully the woods within itself did not).
I checked it several times a day, in the morning (before heading to school which was only a couple more days left), in the afternoon, and before dinner, and sometimes around 9 to 10 PM (I could see the ground better - embers) to monitor it. It was MY responsibility, and my assigned District! The Muck fire gradually diminished except the specific deep end (after the muck fire was over with), it actually caused the creek to fill it up on the Highest Tide of the year, which expanded the creek (creeks are never “permanent shape” they change over the years get wider, get narrower, get deeper, get shadow, they are ever-changing).
Since everything was completely under control, it would soon become dark in a couple of hours, so I had the Vol Team Boys to jump on, and I drove to the woods (which I only needed to go to the back-end, Marsh location - MUCK FIRES not only stink, but they will burn for days).
The County swung by and loaded up the bull dozier when those dark ominous Thunder Clouds were appearing, You could see there were no “rain” it was bad enough that Lightning was flashing everywhere! I have no idea if this was sheer luck, but that muck was struck multiple times and got on fire! It was bad enough when it was MLLW (Mean Lower Low Water). The water was pretty afar off, and the next high tide won’t show up until another 5 hours!
What is the best way to get revenge on people who hurt you?
The Military Police, one of the boys there, personally knew my father, because HIS dad also worked at the VA Hospital where they worked, his dad was the Surgeon there. So he took it upon himself going door to door trying to glean some information. One thing he noticed was this “new people” who had brought a brand new house. After speaking with all the neighbors (who knew and was visibly upset that someone had reported me because they were also my customers), he noticed this middle aged couple kept going to the edge of their property trying to “eavesdrop” unlike the others who gathered around (walking up) in a group. It was one neighbor that made a comment of “I wonder if they called” (In reference to the new neighbors).
There was this “new family” in town who moved into a brand new home. They noticed “men” (I had 30 men, and 2 women - employees) were going up to my parent’s door, and “a kid” would be talking to them, handing them paperwork, and checks (YEAH, That’s their payroll checks Dummy!) and so they felt so “entitled” and “righteous” to call the Police (2 Departments) and Fire Department, Ambulance, and of all things, the Military Police (!?!?) because they were so positive that there was “something illegal going on”!

To make the matters worst, I already had a growing business (YES, a COMMERCIAL BUSINESS!) back then there were no “age” requirements or one had to be a “legal” adult to run a business! I had 33 employees with 17 of them licensed to drive Trucks and Trailers and the Commercial Van (with or without a trailer). NONE of this was illegal - period! I had all insurance, permits, license, everything on the books with the help of the retired Jewish Lawyer that lived about 9 blocks away. It was ALL in my name (that was before the law modified where a legal adult is required to “oversee”), and I was running the business, paying the taxes, doing everything - On top of going to school full time during school days and working full time in the summer, sometimes late!
My entire street was full of vehicles and to make the matters worse, my EMPLOYEES who were incoming were trying to get “next week’s orders and their payroll checks”!

It was because of this incident caused my business to triple! By the time I sold the company in 1981, half of the business (Central - Northern) was bought out by xxx (company and still is in business today) and the other half (South - 2 Counties down) was bought by the employee (sadly, that employee destroyed it), the “Naming Rights” wasn’t permitted (I still owned the business name).
The one that I kicked him in the balls, the CHIEF ordered the Police and Deputies to detain him! There were a lot of yelling going on between the two.
I had conference with the City and County Authorities, I wanted to dig a canal with a big back hoe, to permit the waters from the big creek to flood. They balked at it because there were no “true” way of knowing where the ground below you “ended”, and I kept chiming in - Put it on the barge! NO! Well, the Mayor of xxx (City) got fed up breathing the terrible odor, called the board back and ordered them to do it, DO what SHE said! They borrowed a barge from the Military (Coast Guard), and floated it down to the creek where a landing was made to put the huge crane (not a back hoe but a crane). IT worked! The flooding of the marsh slowly put the fire out.
Lennox taught me so much, that I remained in close rapport until this property I am currently living on that I purchased, it had a DEAD - D.O.A. Lennox Air Conditioner (no heat, no nothing, just Central A/C), the unit was a 1972 model, I rebuilt the entire thing from scratch and upgraded it to a full fledged Heat Pump and from 1999 until 2015 that unit worked until it finally died of a slow death. Freon was no longer available anymore, it just wasn’t possible to upgrade to the newer type of Freon.
